Hot Springs Finder Guide is an independent directory of hot springs, built to answer the questions people have before a soak: where is it, how hot is the water, what will I find when I get there, and is it safe?
What you will find here
- 1,769 hot springs in 102 countries, each with its own page: type, water temperature in °F and °C, cost and hours where known, nearest town, GPS coordinates, directions and nearby springs.
- An interactive map of every spring, with filters for resorts, natural springs, free entry and comfortable temperatures, plus a hot springs near me tool.
- State, country and city pages, including "hot springs near" lists for major cities, sorted by driving distance bands.
- Guides on safety, etiquette, packing and the best hot springs region by region.
How the directory is built
- Built on open data. Spring locations come from OpenStreetMap, the NOAA thermal springs list, USGS water samples and other public sources, combined in the open World Hot Springs atlas. See data sources.
- Calculated, not copied. Nearest towns, distances, temperature bands, nearby springs and city lists are calculated for every spring.
- Hand-written notes for well-known springs, checked against official sources, with a date.
- Honest about gaps. If a fee, opening time or clothing policy is unknown, the listing says so.
- No secret springs. Springs that local communities want kept quiet are not published. See removal requests.
Corrections and contact
Corrections, temperature readings and closure reports are always welcome at contact@hotspringsfinderguide.com. See our editorial policy for how listings are checked.
How the site is funded
The site may show advertising and affiliate links, for example to lodging near a spring. Advertisers and partners never pay for listings, rankings or editorial notes, and paid placements are not accepted.
